Lately, I have been creating miniature still-life paintings of flowers in vases. My eventual plan is to expand into miniature landscapes and portraiture as well. I view these miniatures as studies—precursors to the creation of larger-scale paintings. So, stay tuned!
These still lifes are gestural in nature, drawing from action painting, which represents a new approach to my practice. My previous work has been rooted in hard-edge abstraction, characterized by predetermined compositions.
