Continuing on to my pick-me-ups, I completed a series of miniature landscapes as my second formal study, which will again serve as precursors to larger paintings. As with my earlier miniature floral works, I’m continuing to explore a gestural, looser, and more expressionistic approach. The process is driven less by planning and more by impulse—allowing the paintings to develop through an intuitive response to the landscape.
